Innocence is bliss: A day in the life of a boy called Ross

Today I got to spend one of the most beautiful days with a friend of mine, Celeste and her gorgeous little cousins. She had asked me to come along to her aunt's plot in Pretoria East to see if we could get some sound recordings for a part of her conceptual video project. I decided to bring my new camera along and I'm so glad I did!

I recently got a Canon 5D Mk II which is quite a number of steps up from my old Pentax..Today was the first time I got to experiment so much with it and I can't think of a better way to start off. Observing these three young kids just reminded me how we get so caught up in our lives and don't often take time to appreciate the little things...The youngest of the three, Ross (about 2 and a half years) is such a little delight. Just learning to speak and his favourite phrase is: "Oh man!"..So adorable. Capturing a part of the our experience, I feel is priceless. New goal: feel like a kid a little bit everyday.

Sometimes the exposure or the focus isn't quite on target but I think that's part of capturing the moment. Besides, it's not easy keeping up with their energy!Haha..I think it's a new phase I'm going through though. I like the sometimes dreamy or pure quality of having blown out whites. Feedback would be welcomed though!!

I'd say these photos are part of an adventure..A day in the life of a boy called Ross. Photos will be posted bit by bit.

Wanting to play with, and explore everything.

How can you not smile at such a cutie =D

Oopsy daisy! He fell into the water.

Big brother
Trying to get a two year old to co-operate with sound recordings = mission!

His wet clothes were long forgotten.

One of my favourite moments! The dog took  the opportune moment.
The fact that the dog got his mouth around the ice- cream was irrelevant.
